Press coverage, and why telling our story matters

This Small Business Saturday I was honoured to be featured on BBC Midlands Today — I was interviewed while exhibiting at an event at Warwick Visitors Centre. Having my jewellery business showcased on such a platform felt amazing — it’s not every day a small independent maker gets to share her passion on the BBC.

I was also mentioned in a BBC online article covering the national Small Business Saturday campaign. The piece covered how small businesses across the UK — from shops and cafés to service-based and creative businesses like mine — are part of this important movement to support local trade and community entrepreneurship.

Being in the spotlight like this is an honour. It amplifies the voice of small, independent businesses, reminding people that behind each brand there’s a real person working hard — a person with dreams, craftsmanship, and a commitment to community.

For me, the coverage was more than publicity: it was recognition. It affirmed that the work I do matters. And if sharing my story encourages even one person to shop small, support independent makers or value handmade craft — then it was absolutely worth it.

I’m grateful to everyone who watched or read the piece. And I hope this helps shine a bigger light on all the small businesses out there doing their bit, quietly, day after day.
