Meet the Maker

From Hobby to Business

Hi, I’m Lauren, the hands and heart behind Impressums Jewellery. I’m a self-taught silversmith based in Warwickshire, and my journey into jewellery making began in 2020 as a creative escape. What started as a hobby—making fine silver pendants and charms—soon became a passion that evolved into my business. The name Impressums comes from my early work with fingerprint impression jewellery, where I captured personal memories in silver.

As a busy mum of two, I chose to run my own business so I could work flexibly around my children while still pursuing something I love. This allows me to balance quality family time with my passion for silversmithing, creating unique jewellery that holds meaning for my customers.

Handcrafted Silver Jewellery with Meaning

As my skills grew, so did my designs. I moved beyond fingerprint pieces to develop my own signature style, using traditional silversmithing techniques alongside impression casting. Many of my designs are formed using natural textures or organic shapes, ensuring no two pieces are ever quite the same. I also incorporate coastal influences, including sea glass I’ve collected along the shoreline, adding another layer of storytelling to my jewellery.

My Business Values: Quality, Honesty & Openness

At Impressums Jewellery, I believe in:

  • Quality: Every piece is crafted with care, using high-quality materials and time-honoured techniques.
  • Honesty: I am transparent about my process, pricing, and materials, ensuring my customers know exactly what they are purchasing.
  • Openness: I welcome questions and love sharing the stories behind my designs, making my customers feel connected to their jewellery.

Recognised Craftsmanship & Small Business Success

I am a proud member of the Guild of Jewellery Designers, a UK-based community of artisans dedicated to craftsmanship and creativity. My work has been recognised by Small Business Saturday UK supported by BT Skills for Tomorrow, where I shared my journey into jewellery making and the value of independent makers - watch the interview in full here. In 2024, I was honoured to be invited to the House of Lords in London to celebrate small businesses with Small Business Britain—an unforgettable moment that highlighted the dedication behind handmade businesses like mine.
